Nursing: CNA
Certified Nurse Assistant training is a first step for students to determine if they are interested in and compatible with a career in nursing. The course is designed to prepare the individual to work in the role of a Certified Nurse Assistant in a variety of health care setting. It is approved by the Illinois Department of Public Health. Upon successful completion of classroom and clinical experiences, the student will be eligible to apply to take the state C.N.A. registry examination. The RLC certified nurse assistant course is taught at the Market Place in Mt. Vernon and the Pinckneyville Murphy-Wall Campus.
The Health Care Worker Registry lists individuals with a background check conducted for employment in healthcare environments (including, but not limited to, home health and long term care facilities). Individuals with disqualifying convictions on a Background Check are prohibited from working in healthcare environments. There is a waiver process available for some types of convictions.
